Michael Weikert became the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) for SGF on August 1.

The 50-year-old succeeds Ernst Hahn, who is retiring as planned on September 1, 2014, because of his age.

The responsibilities of members on the management board will not change with the appointment of Michael Weikert: Robert Hapfelmeier, who has been with the company for a decade and has been a member of the management board since the beginning of 2013, will continue to be responsible for business, finance and accounting, IT, human resources and sales. The new Co-CEO is responsible for production, engineering, development and quality management.

The shareholders have found just the right successor with Mr. Weikert. He comes from the automotive business, knows the processes and laws, is familiar and adept in working with customers, and brings many practical experiences, new ideas and much energy with him.

Michael Weikert comes from Sangerhausen, a small town on the edge of the Harz. At TU Magdeburg, he studied mechanical engineering with a focus drive technology. At the end of 1990, the qualified engineer came to Bavaria for professional reasons.
